“Srila Prabhupada said we don’t fight Maya directly but we surrender to Krishna and He fights Maya. We just glorify the Lord. We don’t have to worry about our anarthas, we don’t have to worry about our advancement, and we don’t have to worry about our becoming fearless. It all happens automatically by glorifying and serving the Lord. Prahlada was not afraid, and he did not make any independent effort to protect himself. He just adhered to the lotus feet of Lord Nrsimhadeva. He was always chanting the glories of the Lord, sometimes even preaching to his demonic schoolmates, and the Lord took care of him. So that is the life of a devotee — he just depends on the Lord. He serves the Lord, follows the instructions of the Lord, glorifies the Lord, and spreads the message of the Lord, and the Lord takes care of him.
“Still, as long as we are in the material world, we cannot neglect physical laws. As Srila Prabhupada said, if you are in a jungle and you know there is a tiger, why should you voluntarily go and be attacked? It is not that a devotee should take physical risks and challenge the physical laws: ‘I have become a devotee. I challenge everything.’ According to Srila Prabhupada, that is foolishness.”
