For the morning class in Houston on September 14, Giriraj Swami spoke and led a discussion on Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.13.24, and many devotees contributed their thoughts and realizations. “A disciple always inquires from the spiritual master, and the spiritual master answers the question, provided the disciple is very gentle and devoted. Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura said that by the mercy of the spiritual master one is blessed with the mercy of the Supreme Lord. The spiritual master is not inclined to disclose all the secrets of transcendental science unless the disciple is very submissive and devoted. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the process of receiving knowledge from the spiritual master entails submission, inquiry, and service.” (SB 4.13.24 purport)
Vamana Dvadasi
Giriraj Swami spoke from Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.7.17 on the appearance day of Lord Vamanadeva at ISKCON San Diego on August 31. “Lord Vamana covered all the lands of the universe with His first two steps and then asked Bali Maharaja where to place the third step. Bali Maharaja was very glad to receive the Lord’s remaining step upon his head, and thus Bali Maharaja, instead of losing everything he possessed, was blessed by the Lord’s becoming his constant companion and doorman. So, by giving everything to the cause of the Lord, one does not lose anything, but he gains everything that he could never otherwise expect.” (SB 2.7.17 purport)
Sri Radhastami in San Diego
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
Giriraj Swami traveled to ISKCON San Diego to join the devotees in their Radhastami celebrations. The well-attended program, which was held on Sunday, August 30, featured kirtana, arati, abhiseka, class, and of course, a sumptuous feast for Srimati Radharani.
Giriraj Swami gave an inspiring class from Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.3.23. “In Vrndavana all the pure devotees pray for the mercy of Srimati Radharani, the pleasure potency of Lord Krsna. Srimati Radharani is a tenderhearted feminine counterpart of the supreme whole, resembling the perfectional stage of the worldly feminine nature. Therefore, the mercy of Radharani is available very readily to the sincere devotees, and once She recommends such a devotee to Lord Krsna, the Lord at once accepts the devotee’s admittance into His association.” (SB 2.3.23 purport)

Giriraj Swami in Dallas — “Devotees are Dear”: SB 8.5.24
Today’s verse and purport–and Giriraj Swami’s talk–covered many important points. One, toward the end of the purport, was: “Lord Krsna is very much pleased with His devotees, even if they are not on the topmost stage of devotional service. Even on the lower stages of devotional service one is transcendental, and if one continues with devotional life, . . . Krsna will always be pleased with him and will give him all instructions so that he may very easily return home, back to Godhead.” Here is the class that Giriraj Swami gave in Dallas this morning, March 20, 2009.
