Giriraj Swami read and commented on Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila, Chapter 4: “Sri Madhavendra Puri’s Devotional Service.”

“The first words of Rupa Gosvami’s definition of yukta-vairagya are anasaktasya visayan. Anasaktasya means ‘without attachment,’ and visayan means ‘sense objects, material things.’ And that is a critical point. To be able to use things in Krishna’s service without attachment requires spiritual maturity. One must be more attached to Krishna than to maya. One cannot just be detached from maya; one has to be attached to Krishna. When our attachment to Krishna and Srila Prabhupada’s service is greater than any other attachment, we can actually engage in yukta-vairagya, following in the footsteps of Sri Madhavendra Puri.”
