Giriraj Swami read and spoke from Srimad-Bhagavatam 10.13.16 during the Sunday festival in Dallas.
“Srila Prabhupada said this material world is like a prison. In the prison the inmates are engaged in hard labor breaking rocks. And ordinary people see that the devotees are not breaking rocks — that they are not contributing. ‘They should be breaking rocks like us.’ But Srila Prabhupada explained that our service is to tell the prisoners that ‘This is not your real life. This is not your real work. Your real work is not breaking rocks in prison. Your real life is outside the prison. Your real work is chanting and dancing and loving Krishna.’ And telling them this is not being negative; it is being most positive.”
