Giriraj Swami: I think it is the first time I meet the Satsvarupa dasa Gosvami, he was Prabhupada’s servant and I was also staying on same floor with no kitchen. I was making Prabhupada’s prasāda. And we may not know that when you cook on bucket stove, then a little bit of particles and little bit soft coal and little bit cow dung, and there is a certain temperature in it and you cannot turn the switch to make it higher or lower and then depending on the thickness of the pot you know what intensity you want and then there is an iron riddle concave and keep that on the stove and then you lift it off and then you put the chapatti on top of the flame. So we make chapattis for Srila Prabhupada’s lunch. So, Satsvarupa this wanted to bring into lunch thinking that I probably shouldn’t do it he brought in the plate and came back to the kitchen and said, “Srila Prabhupada want me to teach you how to make the chapattis.”
So I said, “Thank you Maharaja. I will be grateful if could do that.” I wash my hand and then he sat down for rolled down the chapattis, tava was very hot [Unintelligible 00:02:10] and if you love it in too much flour, you actually wrote flour into the surface of the flatbread and even if you try to flap it off, you still have a flower on it. So use a minimum amount for the ball here and then just slap off a little extra, his optimism so he put it on chapatti and I said, “Maharaja, what should I be looking for?” He said, “You wait children,” so as soon as it hit the griddle, very hot, it came very fast. He turned it over and there was little burnt hole, so there is no question of hot and the little bubbles appeared at different places and he took it into Prabhupada and Srila Prabhupada, “This is excellent. You learned it.”
That is how Srila Prabhupada taught. He was never with wip. . .
